One of the most important findings from Canada’s Sky Canada Project is not about a particular UFO sighting. It is about why so many sightings in provinces such as Saskatchewan never receive a clear public explanation at all.
The project concluded that Canada lacks a single, coherent system for receiving, assessing and explaining reports of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs). Instead, reports are scattered across government departments, aviation channels, police services, military contacts and citizen-run organisations. The project found that Canada’s reporting landscape is highly fragmented. Different organisations receive information for different reasons:
- Aviation authorities are concerned with flight safety.
- Police agencies respond when there may be a public-safety issue.
- Defence and security organisations focus on potential threats.

Why low-risk public sightings fall through the gaps
A common assumption is that governments actively investigate every UFO report they receive. Sky Canada found something rather different.
In practice, reports are generally examined only when they appear relevant to safety, security or operational concerns. If a sighting poses a possible aviation hazard, military concern or public-safety issue, it may receive attention. Why this matters for Saskatchewan’s unresolved cases
When people encounter lists of Saskatchewan UFO reports, it is tempting to view every unresolved case as evidence of a deeper mystery. Sky Canada suggests a more cautious interpretation.
